I honestly don't remember. The only odd thing I remember (not academic) was citizenship. I don't think we did penmanship. But we must have because now we gripe so much about people not knowing cursive. I may go look it up later.

absolutely!!! (about that penmanship thing up there; where I went it was just "writing" and I always did well until once in third grade I decided to write back-slanted like my neighbor who was in high school and had a fountain pen (!). That didn't fly with my teacher and she gave me a couple debits on the checkmark column.)
