TBD

TBD on Ning

So here we are looking around, taking a peek... hanging out.

On some thread a bit ago, some one said how annoying the FB was with all the trivial updating goings on.

Personally, I don't think my daily updating is all that interesting but some times I really feel the need to share.  My kitties don't give a whit and the bird...well, he lives in his own world.  His updates would mostly involve "lived another day"..."got some of that shredded stuff again (cheese)"  etc.

Mostly, I have you fine folks to droll on about my meager existence and occasional moments of wonderful.

So, here you go...Keep it brief...mundane with a bit of intrigue.

Exhausted from a flurry of busy in the kitchen today.

I made 2 loaves of rhubarb bread, 2 couscous salads, 12 blueberry muffins. I didn't fire up 'ol Bessie, just used my toaster oven.

Don't know what got in to me...it's darn hot/humid today.

Status update:

.....it's till hot!!!

11th straight day of 100 or higher this summer so far.

Yes we do. Thank you for sharing those lovely few minutes with us, D.D. It gave ME a little peace of mind just reading it.
I have the next seven days off!
WOOHOO Robbie! Yay for you!

After 2 1/2 days weedwhacking in this heat, I may be rested up by time to go back to work.

Things to Do.

1. Check out the Knoxville Airport. I'm flying out of there to the Pittsburgh meet.

2.  Find a place to board Happy while at the Pittsburgh meet.

3. Find a Unitarian Church and meet some like minded people.

4. Visit Oak Ridge, "The Secret City". Where the government developed the first Atomic Bomb.

5. Take Happy to the "Off Leash" dog parks.

6. Do all the mundane stuff. Like cleaning, Laundry,

7. Go to Gatlinburg and "The Great Smokies".

8. Go down and look over The University of Tennessee.

Ducatiman & I have spent our last 2 vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains, Robbie.

If you make it near Cherokee, NC, there's an interesting Cherokee Indian Museum there. Just in case you want to add one more thing to that list.

That's a lovely song, D.D. - thank you. xox
How Dry Is It In Texas?

A buddy out of Longview said he'd killed a mosquito that was carrying a canteen.

A man in Dime Box said the chicken farmers were giving the chickens
crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

In Lake Palestine , they caught a 20 lb catfish that had ticks on it!

But just this week, in Bryan, a fire hydrant was seen bribing a dog.

It's so dry in Texas that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling,
the Methodists are using wet-wipes,
the Presbyterians are giving out rain-checks,
and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

PRAY FOR RAIN
Bob, I heard it was so dry, they’re encouraging people to pee in the pool.
Well.....urine is sterile, ya know.....

95 degrees @ 9:15 PM

Had a wildfire close by this afternoon. Burned at least one house....
