Where are you from?  It's a shout out to see where we are in here. What's the best thing about where you live?

Is that LA the state of Louisiana?  Or L.A. the city of Los Angeles?  (Profile says you live in CA)

Born & raised in the West Texas town of El Paso!

My granddaughter and her Army husband are going to be based in El Paso when he gets home from So. Korea.  I'm not sure what it's like there.  Is it nice?

I just dunno...but I hear good things about that part of the country. I wish them all the luck in the world. :))

They'll be coming to Fort Bliss, one of the largest Army bases in the country.  Many of the NATO countries come to Ft.Bliss for training & to the Sgt. Majors Academy which is also located at Ft. Bliss. El Paso had always had a great relationship with the military. It's a big order city, in the desert and like most places - it's what you make of it. The commander of Ft. Bliss is a native El Pasoan. I haven't been on post in a couple of years but the housing areas are very nice, they have a great PX mall and all kinds of activities. I think they'll enjoy their time here.

Born in the Bronx in NY, raised on LI and have lived in NJ and now I've been in MD since 1989.  The best part of MD is the summer weather.  Lots of heat and humidity.

Originally?.........I'm a farmer's daughter from Duluth, Minnesota.  Beautiful, but COLD.  I was raised in Wisconsin, mostly in Milwaukee.....a town which I still enjoy visiting when I can.  I love the lakeshore.  I raised my family in Illinois, in Joliet.  Not the best town in the country, but ok.

Now?  I live in Virginia....about 40 miles south of Washington, D.C.  The only thing I don't like is the traffic and the urban sprawl.  The countryside is simply beautiful.....rolling hills and forest and lots of water....streams, runs, rivers and bays.  I think I would love to live further west in the state.....not so close to D.C.  I avoid I-95 at all costs.  I do like nearby Fredericksburg, though.....very pretty and rich in history.

as far back as i can remember,I-95 was always under construction in DC

They are always tearing up I-95 somewhere.  It's always torn up in MD too.  Always making it bigger, wider, a better plan and it's still always backed up.

I was born in Jersey, lived here my whole life, the beach is 20 minutes that way(southeast)the drag strip is 20 minutes that way(south)NYC is 25 minutes that way(northeast),the casinos are an hour that way(west,in PA).what else do i need?

Tim, your a regular renaissance man, aren't ya?  :)
