New category: anyone, past or present, real or fictional, maybe even in songs and such, you think is cool and for what reason.
A - Abner Doubleday (they say now he didn't invent baseball, but I'm using his name for that reason anyway)
B- Bobby McGee (b/c he "shared the secrets" of Janis Joplin's soul)
C - Craig Ferguson (because he's just WHAM who he is - dumb or brilliant, impressive or embarrassing, with it or so far away from it he can't even see it, whatever he is, he just is no matter who he's talking to)
D - da Vinci, (b/c he was artist and scientist and inventor, gave us so much. He also did mysterious mirror writing, and mirror painting: secret messages)
Elvis
Oh, really? A because? He started rough and climbed up. He got it all and didn't know what to do with it but kept on plugging along anyway. He made a comeback way/years after no one thought he would or could and he looked better than before. He had friends from all walks of life and he gave away money hand over fist to all kinds of charities and individuals. Even his stupidities had good intentions behind them that (both) came from his small, southern upbringing. He never quite escaped that, but maybe he wasn't supposed to. He shot out the TV. If you were that rich, wouldn't you have done it too, at least once? Ah, well. I hate nostalgia so. . .moving on.
F - Funicello, Annette (b/c with those dark eyes and sweet face, she was the cutest Mousketeer on stage. She won teenaged hearts in those modest one-piece bathing suits and chaste love scenes, and as a mom knew it was hard to beat Skippy)
