I noticed that Richard Clarke ASSUMED that the moron who left the 'bomb' in Time Square was a "jihadi newbee'.  He suggested that whoever did this was Islamic and had no real training (DUH!)

I think the latter points to something else.  MY ASSumption is that they're going to find some crazed rightwing whack job who has ODed on oxyRusty, O'Lielley, Beck and a few other haters and decided he could take matters into his own hands.

For my money, those firecrackers give it that distinct American knuckledragger flavor...not to mention the complete and total ignorance of propane and it's properties!...

And the fertilizer.  I can't decide whether that was intentional or simply more bull shit from right wing hate radio that stacked up in his car.

And I apologize to all the crazed rightwingnuts out there. I agree Mark....Richard Clarke, if not more intelligent than I am (which I'm not willing to bet!), certainly has his fingers closer to THAT pulse than I have ever had. I do have my sources (well, one anyway...and, as they say, "highly placed") but he can't talk publicly because he's still in uniform.
