I don't have much hope either. I think the best years here were the 50's and 60's.
Hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid that most of the kids will have it worse; really hope I'm wrong, though.
The years I've liked the best for me personally were the last half of the 60s and all of the 80s (just wish I had been younger at the start of the 80s, lol).
Unfortunately, I believe it will be worse.
I tend to agree with what everyone has already said.
I'm concerned about it not being like it was when we grew up. While I accept change and can roll with the punches, I see too much going on in their young lives; Way too much. Good news is they are able to use computers at a very young age. For two years the middle school didn't teach penmanship.
