What Is This?

Anybody know what kind of moth this is? I found it in our driveway today; neither Hubby or I have ever seen one like it:

I think it's  a sphinx moth.

Looks like a Sphinx.  Was it a large moth or a very small one?

It was about 1-1/2 to 2 inches long & across. I think it was a sphinx too. Never saw one before; kind of cool looking, I did hear it loves to eat up gardens, though.
