Wow...how often does one get to boogie and be scared sh*tless all in the same couple of hours?  Great set, as always. Love Kukamunga Boogaloo--hadn't heard it before.

And of course, I relate to Ingeborg, Mistress Of The Darkness. All except the rich French pastry part...I'm strictly low carb. ツ

Thankyuhvurrymush.

I had so much Halloween and "boogie" stuff this year, I actually had planned on going in two hours early -

And then, one thing after another happened, and wound up starting only about a half-hour ahead of schedule.

But, at least there may be a next year to play all that stuff. The drive to save the station is doing much better than any of us anticipated four months ago, and I'm guardedly optimistic that WQNA will actually continue (If under a different name). We discovered that the CACC hadn't been exactly honest with us about several things, and now we're good through the end of June 2020, instead of the end of this December - Although the CACC is being assholish about it, doing such things as removing all of the chairs from the studios and turning off the air conditioning to that wing of the building in summer. (We're wondering what they might try in winter - Refusing to remove snow and ice from the outside stairwells, cut off the heating, etc, etc.) Their mere act of refusing to even sell us the name "WQNA", keeping it for themselves while they're actively trying to tear the whole thing down, is an indicator of the general pettiness and pointlessness of their entire managerial attitude. We may have to bring an attorney into all this before it's all done....

I'm really glad to hear that your battle is going far better than anticipated, Snagg! Of course, I'm saddened and appalled that there had to be a battle, particularly one which the "enemy" wages with such petty tactics. Turning off the A/C?  Removing the chairs?? Sounds like Kindergarten (appropriate that the word is German). And, yeah, I hope that childish behavior doesn't continue this winter.

Happy Halloween/Samhain Blessings, Snagg!

Well....

THAT'S gone now.

At noon yesterday, the CACC sold WQNA to a christian radio network (that already owns three stations in this tiny market), who immediately pulled the plug. Off The Air, permanently. No heads up to us volunteers that have been manning the boards for over twenty years, no thank yous, no chance to say goodbye to our listeners - Just "Adios, losers. Jesus sez don't let the door hit you in the ass."

Ahhh, corporate christianity - So compassionate, so gracious. Well, xxxx 'em. WQNA may be gone, but we're not. We're still working towards buying our own little station, and we're around 65% of the way towards our financial goals, with three fundraisers scheduled before the month is even out. Community radio is dead, long live community radio.....
