TBD

TBD on Ning

I really enjoyed The Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille. Just enough humor to make it semi-believable!

Abandoned Column of Fire after 2 discs on Audiobook.

Deep Freeze by John Sandford is my current listen. A Virgil Flowers novel

I’m stuck in Accounting Software Hell after my system crashed at the office and all my accounting for 2017 is gone, baby gone! It was supposed to be backing up to The Cloud but didn’t happen. BOO HISS! Probably some of my fault since was never trained on how to verify the information. Just left it in the hands of Tech Guru who no longer works for us. Almost $20 a month wasted.

Today picked up Lee Child's new Jack Reacher book THE MIDNIGHT LINE and Isabel Allende's IN THE MIDST of WINTER. Also brought home a stack of children's hard back books as an 18 month old great-granddaughter will be visiting Friday from Phoenix along with her eight year old sister. Older sister is reading HARRY POTTER now!

Has anyone actually finished Jack Reacher's latest novel?  I got half way through it and I'm stumbling.  Tell me there's a reason to keep reading.  I always buy his book without even reading a review -- but I'm bummed.

Merry Christmas to all!

GLENDA...I bailed on Reacher’s book as well.  Sooo slow and no feeling of connection to the story...what? Pick up hitchhiker and then try to analyze his history?

Hello Funseekers!

You all are reading a lot of books that interest me! I have several titles on hold at the library.

Current read is COLLARED by David Rosenfelt. I love how he interjects humor throughout a challenging legal mystery.

The Midnight Line is on side table to start tonight.

RAPA sounds like a wonderful family reunion with Daughter and more to come. We are just the 4 of us here this weekend, Micah...Jim’s special needs son, Jim’s mother of course. We had to cut back on invites because of all the action of food prep for those two. Cut their food, butter rolls, dispense meds and more. Then Jim and I sit down to a cold dinner! LOL...Actually I slam mine into microwave and pour another glass of wine!

I used to start XMAS cards but not sure if that will even take place this year! Humpty Dumpty has taken over my energy, vigor, spirit, strength, stamina and zing! Lol
Am with you on energy, spirit strength, etc, Mellow! Yesterday had 13 tubes of blood drawn for my annual physical! Zap! Son will pick me up this afternoon to take me to Grapevine for vittles.
Am watching Macy's parade, trying to get myself moving!

Also hope my peepers hold up to start THE MIDNIGHT LINE tonight!

I'm in line at the library for the new Jack Reacher novel.  This year was a big one for me reading as much revenge fiction as I could get my hands on.  David Baldacchi  had several series that I mad great inroads on and I am about caught up on  most.  Right now in audiobooks, I am listening to John Grisham's "Rogue Lawyer" through my public library through OverDrive.  On paper, I'm reading J.A. Jance's latest J.P. Beaumont mystery "Proof of Life".

I've been using OverDrive a lot so that I can listen to audiobooks while do chores and clearing my life through a program on Daily Om called "A Year to Clear".  I'm almost finished with my second year and eager to start a third.  Clearing and gratitude practice are what keep me moving.  I have two books for "A Year to Clear"  by Stephanie Bennett Vogt.  I used the Daily Om course the first year and then got the books for the second year.  I have cleared a lot of mental and spiritual clutter and now I'm working on the household stuff.

Gratitude practice I do here on TBD.  The Wall of Gratitude has been here since we migrated here from the original TBD.  Anyone is welcome to drop by and see what we have there.  There are two of us who are regular/daily visitors and we are loyal practitioners of the art of gratitude.  It's not just a November kind of thing with us.

Baia, I'm pretty good about clearing the mental/spirital clutter but am resistant to dealing with the household "stuff!". Too much memorabilia that I enjoy! Let the kids pitch or take it after I'm no longer here. Just like watching old Carol Burnett, Jerry Seinfeld and Raymond shows give me joy so does much of my "stuff" which elicit fond memories!

I am going off on another tangent.  (Fair warning!)  After reading Baia's comments I went scrolling through the list of groups on teebeedee and was surprised to see that very few of the groups are active, many not having a post in 5 years.  We fret because we are not as active as we once were, but we are still alive and kicking.

RAPA!!!! Your blood work makes me dizzy just thinking about that process!!!

URSULA...Yes, I know about the lack of participation around the site. But that is very common because Facebook, Snapchat and others have taken over on line chatting with lots of photos, videos, birthday reminders and other tricks to keep people coming back.

I’ve stepped away from this site for several months but then...I jump back on just to sort of keep up with any news I might miss! LOL. Couple of my very favorite books were from recommendations on this Group! Authors I would never have picked on my own.

ARTEMIS...For you Audiobookoholics...I started this yesterday just for grins and giggles and the reader blew me away! She has nice deep voice and is heroine of the story...very sarcastic with a fun attitude. Just loved disc one...now will it continue? I also have the Library book in large print but think the audio will be fine. I listened to THE MARTIAN on audio and felt I missed too much...Jim said the science was hard to follow. Don’t think that will be the same with this story.

If you like short stories. MATCH UP is a blast! Putting Lee Child with the Author of Bones for instance makes an engaging read or listen. FACE OFF is kinda the same but I haven’t listened to it yet. Actually I like to listen to short stories when I walk around the ‘Hood.

Good to see everyone. Like I told RAPA...I was having abandonment issues.
One more thing. As I said...never started a TOPIC before and actually just followed the Leaders. On SPARKPEOPLE we have a link to send a GROUP private message to every Team member. This often reminds them to stop in and post how they are doing with their diet, fitness or health challenges. Guess I could pose the question on the Q&A listed at top of the screen.
Carolyn. If you don't have a link over member names allowing you to "send message to group" will see about getting you one. I know that a couple months ago I sent a note to the group. TBD isn't as user friendly as eons of yore! :(

I just finished Deep Freeze and am now into Sulfur Springs by William Kent Krueger, which is as engrossing as I expected it to be. I also received notice that two other books on my hold list are available. They are Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan and My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent. Has anyone here read either of those? It seems that after a book has been on my hold list for a while, I tend to forget what inspired me to put it there in the first place. Another symptom of age, I expect.
