Not so much for me now, when I was working it was a problem, so many people over do it.

We had a waitress at the truckstop who thought she was all that and a bag of chips. She wore too much perfume. One morning when my current boyfriend and Imwere having breakfast together, she came over and hugged him like she always tried to.....and he shrugged her off and said, "Gawd, Eleanor......you smell like a French whore!".
She never tried to manhandle him again. ;-)

i've known some "Eleanors"!!!  may even have used that term too, pretty funny

So your current boyfriend is familiar with what a French whore smells like.

Interesting.

Or your mouth pucker......

i think what happens is that person gets desensitized to the scent, so they just keep putting more on until they can smell it themselves, which is waaaaayyy  too much for the rest of us.

one of my friends used this particular scent and this might sound weird but i would follow her around like a puppy dog, that scent just made me so happy... she gave me some, so i could be happy all the time...oh man, i couldn't wash it off me quick enough!!  it did not mix with my chemistry at all, it reeked horribly to me!!  so i just had to be content to sniff her every now and then, LOL  ....

I am a scent person.  I would feel undressed if I didn't put on perfume.  Each night before I go to bed, I spritz some on just because I like the smell.  I have been doing this since I was 14.

When my father was on his deathbed in the hospital at 91  he asked my mother to bring him his cologne. Whenver I smell Polo, I think of him.

When we go out, the last thing I say to my husband, a construction type, "Did you put your cologne on?"  My Uncle Ralph used to smell of Old Spice, cigarettes, and whiskey.  Scents mean a lot to me.  I just bought more reed diffusers today and also I light incense and scented candles.

BUT, I work with two women, one wears Angel and the other Patchouli oil, and I find both their scents a bit overwhelming.  Luckily, nasal fatigue sets in and after a bit, it doesn' bother me.

patchouli gives me an instant headache!  i used to like musk and some other ones, but nowadays, most scents give me a headache, and hate to say, but candles are the worst...  thinking the essential oils, except for lavender which makes me nauseous, are ok, but the 'replicas' do me in....

my friend is an aromatherapist(for what that's worth) says differnet scents--the essential oils, can be therapeutic, and be used to calm you down, relax, whatever.. the sense of smell is a wonderful thing, a brief whiff can recall a vivid memory, moreso than any other sense, i think....

Lucinda, scents are definitely therapeutic for me.

A couple of years ago Febreeze had a room spray called Ocean breeze or some such thing.  It really and truly smelled like the beach.  They ran it for a couple of summers, but I don't see it around anymore.

My Cousin has a problem with smell . Some things he can smell . Others he can't . One of the reasons he likes is ride around with me . "He can't smell my Farts" . If he smells Cig smoke it takes days to get out of his system same with incense ....

Sometimes a nice soap is just right especially on hot summer days perfume would be too much. I have some hand lotions that are very fragrant, if I use those I don't put on any other scent. I like the verbena one a lot.

the only lotion i use is the old favorite, Jergen's cherry-vanilla.  Vaseline Intensive Care made a 'nightly renewal lotion' that was lightly scented lavender-which normally i don't like, however, it was discontinued but i did find it on Amazon and bought several bottles, but it's all used now....  don't use body washes, i like the Zum bar soaps, with lemon or something citrus, those scents kinda wake you up in the morning, so nice and fresh...
