For people with glasses...Bifocals or 2 pairs of glasses?

My eyes were "perfect" until a few months ago when I started waking up with red, swollen, gooky eyes, along with other issues. GLASSES were supposedley the answer but doc said I only needed prescription for driving/distance and could get a "cheap" pair for reading. But my eyes seem to have gotten worse. Is it BETTER to have glasses on ALL THE TIME instead of just when you need them?

I wore glasses or contacts for years, I had lasik in 2001 so I didn't need any until about 2008 I started need reading glasses from the drugstore. I can still do without them in good light. For the last 2 years I"ve needed the mildest reading glasses for the computer. Has to do with eyes aging and getting stiffer instead of flexible.

I tried to get reading glasses but they don't make them for me .

i have the monovision contacts too, they work really well for me... last year i had to wear readers with them but i had the 'reading' eye lens tweaked a little so don't need them now, and true, you do lose some distance but i could never see down the road to begin with, so why start now, lol...  my bifocal glasses, which i will only wear at home, are a fairly old prescription, good for close stuff but can't see distance....  i wore big gonky glasses since i was 10 or so, so when i finally got contacts at about age 30, i haven't worn spectacles since then...  i remember back 'in the day' when we went out "clubbing", my friend always made me take off the glasses, she said i looked so much better, couldn't see a damn thing tho, so i was the one with the slightly vague look about me, lol....

Men looked better i guess with your glasses off ....

Yeah, Problem...I had the squinting and the heaadaches but headaches have been a daily part of my life for about 10 years and the other stuff just started. I had a full exam with dilating drops and the whole nine yards from an Opthamologist and she said my symptoms were from severe dry eyes. I woulda thought allergies too. But when I got the glasses and got the lubricating drops, for the most part the "Pink eye LIKE" symptoms went away for the most part. I do have occassional problems. NOW, lately I'm having burning that I think IS related to my seasonal allergies that I have some years and other years I DONT. (The older I get, the BETTER and SHORTER my allergy season is.)

I would NEVER get Lasix surgery. Unless its changed, it used to improve your distance 100% while making your close-up vision WORSE. I dont need to see things far away all that much.

Flipper...its hard to have a hangover when you drink water and milk all the time when these episodes are happening but it was a good suggestion anyway....LOL!

sometimes my stupid sense of humor gets away from me.

nothin wrong with your sense of humor flipper , i thought it was funny and knew you were kiddin .. i'm sure kim has a good sense of humor and knew you were kiddin too ..

well , i officially have css .. can't see shit .. along with crs .. can't remember shit, which is pretty similar to craft .. can't remember a fucken thing .. and sometimes i even have cds .. can't do shit .. never had chs tho which is also known as grandma's disease .. can't hear shit .. for the poundin i gave my ears over the years what with the guitar amps and all i can still hear pretty good .. but my eyesight is pretty bad .. i didn't need glasses when i was a kid but my eyes were never that good .. i can remember when i was younger i used to caddy for extra money and the golfers would always ask me caddy where did my ball go ?/ and i never knew .. of course i was pokin smot on the 3rd hole so .. who cares anyway ??  so now i have to wear glasses all the time but i don't have too many pics of me wearin em cause i think they make me look dorky . but i still get a wink and a smile in the supermarket from time to time .. must be them bored housewives on drugs i been hearin about .. but thats another post ain't it ??

Flipper....KEEP your sense of humor, humor is ALWAYS a  good thing to have and use....I guess I was trying to throw a little DRY (eye?!) humor in there too....LOL!!

yea,i'm not out to insult anyone, sometimes i type faster than i think,i'm real good at putting my foot in my mouth,

yeah i've done that too flipper .. it takes some peope awhile to get used to me till they realize i'm just teasin em .. i never set out to upset anyone on purpose but .. joke em if they can't take a fuck ..

I've done contacts and they didn't help my vision as much as glasses. I started wearing them when I was about 10 or 11 for reading. As I've gotten older I went to the graduated lense which is a type of bifocal. In a couple more years I'll probably have to have cataract surgery...sort of of goes with the territory in Florida, all the sun.

When I am using my allergy meds, I have to use drops cause it dries up all the fluid, not just in my nose.
