a very young flipper.
You were adorable back then, too. :-)
i still look like that,just a little older.and thank you. (=
cute kid..that hair..
that was 1960...,thank you,i still have it..)
I regret that I do NOT have photo albums of friends (best friends, "guy" friends and a few old boyfriends) from my teen years. My ex husband was very jealous and made me BURN them. Well, he didnt really MAKE me but said if I did it would prove I didnt care about those people anymore. STUPID...I SHOULDNT have but I wouldnt have had any peace!! Incidentally, i still have our wedding pictures but LIKE it or NOT, he IS and always WILL be my kids' Dad.
I live in my grandparents' house now. Well, a mobile home. So I do have some things that were "left" when Pap-pap died 3 years ago. But I keep them mostly becaause they are useful. I didnt move some of the knick knacks from a wall shelf because they fit in with my own decor.
Aside from THAT, my ONE precious possession is a gift from my parents at Christmas. I'm not even SURE why it was my favorite thing. I was about 10 and my mom gave me a HUGE box for Christmas. INSIDE the box was a bunch of wrapped presents. Probably things like coloring books, play doh, etc., i dont remember but I LOVED the "Little Drummer Boy" story and LOVED lambs. And my mom got me a "Hummel LIKE" Drummer Boy with his LAMB. The base is a music box. MANY MANY years ago when my NOW 30 year old cousin was little, I gave it to HER because I had "grown up" and didnt need such nonsense anymore. LOL! ONE DAY, maybe about 10 years ago, I was up in her room and saw the Drummer Boy pushed to the back of a shelf. I couldnt BELIEVE it!! So, I took him home (she didnt want it) and set him on my bedroom dresser, ALL YEAR ROUND!! That following year, my mom who sewed a lot made me and my little brother stuffed "life sized" LAMBS for Easter. They were made of a curly wool material that looked like a real sheep's fur. (The lambs are LONG GONE!!)
I also have something really dumb that I "justify" having because one of my spare rooms is decorated in African animals. Its a small stuffed Lioness that was a promotion for when the movie BORN FREE came out in the 50's?. (It was my Mother's or grandma's...I realy just remember it was "MINE" since I was a very little kid. It was my FAVORITE book, FAVORITE movie and of COURSE, my FAVORITE animal was the LION!!! I DONT know why I keep it but everytime I pick it up to throw it out, I set it back on the bookshelf in my craft room, sigh loudly and leave the room.....LOL!
Grin...I was able to get rid of mine.
