Senior prom yes. Ten year reunion, yes. That was enough. I was not a happy camper in HS.
No....and no.
I didn't want to ask my dad to come up with a dress, shoes, and all that stuff; he was working hard enough to keep us fed. And I didn't know most of the people I went to school with back then......why would I care to see them now?
No and No; pretty much what Karin said (except for that part about the dress and shoes :-)).
Yes to the the prom...but not a traditional one...We rented out the Tiergarten in Nurnberg and danced among the flora and fauna..kind of memorable.
Did go to my 30th reunion.
I was in a small school with a small class...around 80 or so as I recall. We all had a lot in common...American kids in Europe....parents either in the military or the foreign service...we finished high school and scattered to the wind...kept in touch with quite a few over the years though...the reunion was fun....Vegas as a backdrop gave us plenty to do.
The school I attended no longer exsists...the building was returned to the German govt.... as part of the force reductions...was no longer needed. It was an interesting period of history.
Yes to Prom, it was magical
Class reunion not until my 40th it was fun seeing all the old people, I don't know why I expected them to look the same, my 50th is this Aug. I'm debating going to that although I think I should.
Yes and yes. I went to an all girls Catholic High School and wasn't allowed to date, so I went with one of my classmate's cousins who was a year older than I was and loved to dance. We became friends and he "came out" to me several years later, lol!
We had "all year" reunions, with the multiples of 5 and 10 year classes being "honored" at any particular year. I went to my 25th H.S. reunion and was friendlier with the "fast" girls than I was with the ones I hung out with during high school, lol! I also went to my 10 year law school reunion. Haven't felt the need to return to either one since. May be fun to go to a grammar school reunion if they ever had one... Oops - this year would be the (gulp) 50th! Guess that's not going to happen!
I never attended any events in school , shyness took over . Never had anything worth wearing back then . A friend let me have a picture of our class reunion . I think it was the 30th year one . I could make out some of them but not all . Some have passed away since it was taken . If only shyness had went away early in life i could have made something of myself and wouldn't have missed out on so much in life . Now it's too late for me ....
