speakin of a musicians worst nightmare and 335's

yeah this is one for someone who knows a thing or two about guitars .. seein as we don't have a guitar group .. yet .. its funny that almond put up that post yesterday about the gibson 335 gettin wrecked at the airport .. why ?? cause i just got a 335 yesterday too .. not a gibson tho .. its a really good copy tho .. that guys 65 gibby was worth about 10 grand and to be honest most musicians would never take a guitar worth that much out on the road .. so what do they do ?? they get a ringer .. they'll get a newer version and if funds are low they'll do what i did .. they'll get a good playable copy.. it will never be worth as much but if it plays well and sounds good ?? you deal with it .. some guys are hungup on the name and most of the time a good name will be a good guitar .. but thats not always the case .. i've had some gibsons that were real dogs .. and i mean stinkers .. fenders too .. but thats not the general rule .. i've just owned a lot of guitars .. had more guitars than i did girlfriends so .. its a lot .. believe me .. its a lot .. 

so what did i get ?? i got a jay turser 335 copy .. and how is it you ask ?? a glad you asked question .. its pretty close to the original except for the headstock .. it seems that back in the 70's gibson got mad at all the imports commin in from japan so they sued em for copyin them .. but the only thing they could really sue for was their headstock shape .. so the copies persisted with different headstock shapes and everything else the same .. funny thing is they never said anything about the epiphone elite headstocks and jay turser pretty much copied that .. really close .. and the epi elites are in my opinion as good as the gibsons .. so good in fact gibson who owns epiphone made them discontinue them ..yup they are that good .. so would i say this is as good as an epi elite ?? close but .. no .. but very close .. if i rated the epi elite a 9 i'd give the jay turser an 8 .. and i'd give the gibson a 9 too .. a regular epiphone would get a 7 or maybe a 7 and a half overall .. you have to look at them .. some really good ones and some not so good ones .. they were makin them in 4 different plants so you can't control the quality as well that way .. so i'll bet you wanna see this guitar that came with the gator hardshell case .. would the gator case hold up better than the gibson case did ?? probaby not .. if they wanna wreck your guitar its toast ..

and yeah i think i finally found somethin to do with that wigsby trem i got about a year ago thinkin i could use it on a tele .. but nope .. too big for a tele .. here's a pic of the epi elite headstock and the jay turser .. see if you don't think they're really close lookin ..
