Deep Pitching Makes Red Sox the Team to Beat

OK, sports fans -- It's a Red Sox Nation! I realize we're only half through the season -- and as (an almost) lifelong Red Sox fan, I've seen our Sawx get close and then.....well, we've all heard the stories. I've learned not to count chickens (ever) and I wait til I see my fellow loyal fans genuflecting and crying in the rain in the stands at Fenway.

BUT
what the heck? Here's an uplifting news story (unless you're a Wankees fan) -

DeMarco: Expect a Dodgers-Red Sox World Series, complete with the Mannywood sideshow. But on the field, the AL still clearly is the better league, with the better overall competition. That and another round of home-field advantage will help the Red Sox take another title.

God willing, I'll make the pilgrimage back to Fenway this year for the win :-)

GO SAWX!!

I'm just kidding back. The Nationals are the worst team in the Major Leagues but it was a terrific confidence builder. We need to end the drought; everyone in Chicago is anxious for a Cubs WS win. The White Sox did it in 2005. I don't even know anyone that was alive the last time the Cubs won. Oh well, we'll keep just pushing and believing. Good things come to those that wait. Go Cubs.

Oh boy, oh boy, It's going to come down to the Cardinals and the Cubs for the division championship. Believe me, the Cubs will win. Our hitting is just getting on track and injured players are coming back. Pujols is the best but there is strength in numbers, no one part of any team is as strong as the combination of the whole team. In other words, Pujols is not gonna beat the whole Cub team alone. It remains to be seen but this is our year, 101+ years = Cubs Win, Cubs Win, Cubs Win. Dean I wish your team the best as I've done for others on this thread, however, It's the Cubs year, 2009. See ya down the road.

hey moosie....my dad took me to tiger's stadium for my first-ever baseball game. i was little. he stuffed me full of hot dogs and crap.... i was sick for days! my mom was livid. i don't remember anything else about it, other than it was loud. we moved to the east coast shortly after....i was never a NY fan, but when i moved to boston for school, i found my baseball 'home' at fenway park. since then, no matter where i've lived, i'm all about the sawx!
ps---we beat toronto yesterday.

i wish your team the best. ps....i still like the red wings. :-)

Another Cub non believer, I understand (101 years without a World Series win). You gotta believe. Cubs Vs Sox (Boston or Chicago) World Series, it doesn't make a difference which one to me. Our hitting is just getting going. The defining series for us will be against the Phillies next week. Once we sweep them or win the series (two out of three games), our momentum will be unstoppable. We'll win the division and off to the playoffs we'll go. St Louis and Milwaukee have played good the first half of the season but they're done. It's our time now. Go Cubs. Sorry Moosie.

I know that Boston had a long stretch of losing also, however, you're correct, Boston has won six World Series, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004 and 2007. The Cubs have won two. 1907 and 1908. Boston has won six since we won our last one. But again, this is our year. Thanks for your enlightening and encouraging comments. If you think I crack you up now, wait until we win the 2009 World Series. Go Cubs!!! Hypothetically, Sawx Vs. Cubs; Cubs Win, Cubs Win, Cubs Win (Just Practicing). And the best to your Sawx also.
