We are all here because we are single. If that be by choice or not, we are all looking for a place where we can find others to share our thoughts on being single. We are here to share our joy, our funny situations, our accomplishments and our tips to surviving on our own.
Everyone is encouraged to participate, whether that be comments, new topics, quizzes, jokes or links to great articles that effect our lives.
This is a great place to do all of this. Let’s just be nice and non-judgmental, so we are all comfortable to voice our thoughts.

How are you at making friends? Do you find it easy or difficult? I find I'm very good at making friends and find it very easy. I like to talk a lot but have been told I'm a good listener. Continue

Technically Spring started last Thursday afternoon, but we have a prediction for snow over Tuesday night. So is it time to ready the gardens and house for Spring? I personally am not too enthused about cleaning the garden and setting up the…Continue

I am thinking about closing down this group. I already have three other groups on another site and really don't have time to keep up with this one. I'd like to see someone else take it over. If you would be interested in taking this group over,…Continue

Here we go again. Freezing temperatures and upwards of 6 inches of snow. Are you going to be getting snow and cold weather again this week? This area is hilarious with this weather. All the schools will close. This storm is going to hit in the…Continue

There was so much to watch over the weekend. I love the Olympics, but I also love The Beatles. Last evening I was so torn about what to watch. Beatles won. Continue

How about 'up the creek without a paddle' = being in a foreign country with no knowledge of their language. So kudos 4 trying 2 learn something!
Off to the New England Home for the Deaf.... singing the driving song....
How do I become a member? I'm 63 & still as fun loving as I was my whole life!!
The flu is keeping me home and allowing me time to do things I don't usually do. I read the messages about some of us spending the evening at home reading. I have books available and if you have Kindle and you send me your e-mail, I'll be happy to send you a book for free. I can't send you the non-fiction because I'm in a war with the publisher to get my rights back. However I have 2 suspense with romantic elements available. You can check them out on my website and pick the one you want.www.mariagrazia.tv
You're welcome Mike and ozzie! I wanted to send that to some of my family members and friends who STILL think they're in complete control when they text while driving. They say the messages are real short - sure - just like all of those texters who were only texting ONE 3-letter word and either killed or injured others or died or were injured themselves.
"Excellent", thank you so much TW, and oldmike,
I will act on this straight away, this video needs to reach
as many people as possible, especially the young ones
who often think their elders `worry too much' etc,
as for myself, every time I am aware
that any members of my family are taking a long trip
somewhere, holidays etc, I can't help but remain
silently anxious until I've heard they have arrived safely.
Now there is the added worry of this texting fad
that can be fatal.
I'm thankful for seeing these Comments today.
Ozzie -- see TornadoWoman's post below for the youtube link. Thanks TW!
oldmike, even though the video below is extremely sad,
I thank you for placing it here, it is a result of the times
that we are living in right now and I feel strongly that
EVERYBODY that drives a car should watch this one.
I have attempted to `Share' this video where it says
at the end of the video, but nothing happens when
I click on any of the three options, so,
I am asking if you could kindly post the URL or
the Embed Code of this video please,
as I want to forward it to my adult daughters
and four grandsons, along with other friends.
This is a MUST SEE video, and I cannot thank you
enough for placing it here today.
Recent good books I've loved:
DNA USA by Bryan Sykes - enthralled me so much I sent off for a genetics testing kit.
The Seven Daughters of Eve by Bryan Sykes - interesting, but not so much as DNA USA
The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson - about growing up in the 50's - funny and full of nostalgia.
I found Roger Rabbit on YouTube and watched part of it. I'm also watching a movie on deafness on youtube that is really interesting.
Next weekend's book: Albert Einstein - His Life and the Universe by Walter Isaacson.
I am listening to The Logic of Life, the rational economics of an irrational world by Tim Hartford as well and quite enjoying it. Although, I admit, with my hearing the folks in the car next to me get to "enjoy" it as well, I'm sure. :)
