I'm going to try this this week. I'll bet the kids will love it!
Here's an interesting salad combination that is surprizingly good.
STRAWBERRY AVACADO SALAD
Ingredients:
3 tbsp sugar
6 tbsp grapeseed oil
4 tbsp honey
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp strawberry champagne vinegar
2-3 cups torn salad greens
1 avacado- peeled, pitted and thinly sliced (1/4 inch thick)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
10 strawberries, sliced
1 cup alfalfa sprouts

In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, honey, vinegar, and lemon juice to create dressing. Set aside.
Place greens in a serving bowl and top with sliced avacado and strawberries. Drizzle dressing over everything, then sprinkle with pecans. You can refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving or serve immediately.
That sounds interesting...thanks for posting this....I want to try it.
When someone put this salad out during a meal, I didn't want to try it. The combination of Strawberries and Avocado didn't seem appealing. After I tried it, I liked it and have served it a few times myself. Mmmm!
Spinach and Pear Salad

1 Bag Baby Spinach
1 pear, thinly sliced (a tart apple works well too)
1/3 cup Walnuts pieces
1/3 cup Craisins (raisins work too)
1/2 Gorgonzola or Feta cheese crumbles
Fresh ground pepper and sea salt, to taste
2 to 3 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar, or to taste
2 to 3 tablespoons EVOO, or to taste

Place everything in a bowl, toss and enjoy!
that is my idea of a salad plain and simple some lettuce, onion, cucumber some feta cheese some radish and carrot sometimes black olives are a nice touch.

You have to be careful though of feta some of it is salter than other.I have found that bulgerian feta is less salty if you can find it
