TBD on Ning

Okay....since it's prime ice cream season:

Following another "food" topic tonight....

What's different between a milkshake and a "malted"?

What's your preference?

I know, I know! My first summer job was at an Ice Cream Parlor.

A malted has the same ingredients as a milk shake –milk and ice cream, but when making a “malted milk shake" you add a couple of teaspoons of malt powder. It’s a light brown powder made from malted barley. It’s kind of bitter, but when you add it to the milk shake it takes on a different taste.
We used to make “malted” ice cream Sundaes too.

You get a gold star Quinn.
I don't have near enough of either, but if I had to pick, I'd pick a malted.  And on a somewhat related topic, I even like "Malt-O-Meal".

Like you, Stir, can't get enough, and i too prefer the malted variety......I don't however share your affinity for Malt-o-Meal.

I like malted milk shakes, but I didn't like the powder sprinkled on top of an ice cream sundae.

I would pass on that myself.

Is that the same stuff that's in Malted Mik Balls?

Because I like those.

Jaylee said it is....guess that's why I like 'em too.

O, and beer?

Naw....don't put malted milk balls in my beer.
