TBD on Ning

Okay, I stole this from CBS news this morning, but I thought it might make a good discussion.

Does product placements in films or TV programs make you want to buy, or just turn you off?

Do you even notice brand name products in movies?

Even TV commercials themselves don't make me want to buy any of their products.

Product placement in movies fares no better. In fact, a bad movie or TV show makes me want to buy a competitor's product, just because I associate the one product with the stupid thing I'm watching.

If Wayne and/or Garth are hawking it, I'm buying it.
Did you see Wayne and Garth a couple of weeks ago on SNL. Dana Carvy was the host and Mike Meyes just showed up. they were as funny as ever.
No, I didn't see it.  Middle aged Wayne and Garth, huh?  Musta been good!
Actually, for me, seeing familiar products with real names in a film enhances it .......like seeing say a  soft drink can with name instead of a blank label.
Some so-called actors should be upstaged or maybe off-staged.

I honestly don't notice.

I am a marketing persons nightmare...

Could you resist Jeff Bridges hawking "The Dude" bobble head dolls?
