The Wayans family put together this raucous, politically incorrect spoof of dance movies like Save the Last Dance, Step Up and High School Musical. In this send-up, a black hip-hop hopeful named Thomas Uncles (Damon Wayans Jr.) becomes involved at Music High School with a white aspiring ballerina (Shoshana Bush) whose mom was killed while taking the girl to her Juilliard audition. David Alan Grier wears a fat suit and parodies Dreamgirls' "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," and a Zac Efron caricature transforms "Fame" into a gay young man's coming-out song.
Crank: High Voltage
Jason Statham again stars as Chev Chelios in this sequel to the 2006 actioner Crank, and Amy Smart and Dwight Yoakam reprise their roles from the earlier movie. Crank ended with Chelios falling from a helicopter to what seemed certain death on the streets of L.A., but Crank 2 has him surviving and kidnapped by Chinese thugs. His heart is surgically removed and replaced with a mechanical one that requires frequent electrical recharging. He rips around the city trying to find his old heart, and over-the-top action and disgusting incidents take place along the way.
