Iron Man 2

I only know the basics about the Iron Man universe. What I do know is that Iron Man 2 will undoubtedly be one of Hollywood’s biggest hits next year, and that the movie’s first trailer is a superb example of how to whet fans’ appetites without giving too much away. So please, by all means, watch the trailer below and share your thoughts! What do you think of our first footage of Black Widow, War Machine, and Whiplash?

I hope it isn't overwhelming. Nick Fury, War Machine, Whiplash, Black Widow---how long is the movie? LOL!!!
I wish they wouldn't bring back so many of the 'good' villains like that for one movie. Who could they do for '3'?
All in all tho' I can't wait to see it.

I hear ya Zen. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight both had a number of villains in them, it’s more about making sure they fit together in the story. In Spider-man 3 they didn’t because everyone had their own individual story and journey.

Like most superhero movies, the first sequel usually ends up the best (Superman II, Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, X2: X-Men United) and I think this will be the case with Iron Man 2. Then the question for me becomes will Iron Man be able to avoid the ‘curse’ of the second sequel or third movie a series (Superman III, Spider-Man 3, X-Men: The Last Stand). And with that in mind, good luck trying to follow up the Dark Knight!

Agreed. Spider-man 2 was fantastic, in my opinion, but Spider-man 3 was biting off more than it could chew (too many villains, too many subplots). I hope Iron Man 2 doesn’t fall into the same trap.

As with the first film, the trailer is infinitely more entertaining anytime Robert Downey Jr is on screen. Without him, the first entry in the franchise would be an average superhero flick, but Downey Jr's natural charisma and wit managed to elevate it.

Also visible in the trailer - Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. Both serve as strong links to The Avengers, the eventual group Iron Man will become part of along with Hulk, Captain America and Thor.
