insecure hicks who see no value in education but resent anyone that has some.
I think the Oligarchy in this country has done an excellent job with the old divide and conquer. Also, waving a carrot of material possessions as status.
People in this country have no understanding of the difference between being "rich" and "wealthy".
The average person can't conceive of how wealthy these people are.
Jacquin, I believe it is time for Obama to realize that his idea of bipartisanship is not even close to what the Republicans are interested in. It is apparent he has been misled by them and lost a lot of political clout because of his being so naive. They had no plan to cooperate from the start and will end up bad mouthing whatever plan comes up to try to win back more seats in the next congressional election. Of course the continued support of big pharma and insurance companies will also help.
I think the time is going to have to come, and come very soon, when Obama makes the announcement that he wanted to do things with bipartisan support, but desperate times call for immediate action instead of coddling. Things will be changing with or without Republican support. He's going to have to take matters into his own hands, spell out exactly what he wants done, and encourage Democrats to do it. The outcome is more important than pacifying the less informed, the narrow-minded, or the party loyalists.
