I head her denigrate the Nobel prize award on the basis that they gave it to him b/c he agreed w/ them that the US should not "dominate." (Her word) Dominate? Like to "dominate" is a good thing? Goes w/o saying? Like international diplomacy is a schoolyard, and we should shake them down for their lunch money, because we're big and bad and they better listen up?
Or maybe she was thinking of black leather and a whip; I'm not sure how her dreams of "domination" play out. (Bad word, when you're talking about reasoning and compromising in an international community, except for those who confuse swagger with power, and I can tell there are lots of those out there).
Well, at least she probably does not have 5 student deferments as her father had because he said, "I had better things to do", when asked why he did not serve in the VietNam Era. Also, maybe she will not be arranging no-bid contracts for Haliburton since perhaps she does not receive $200,000 as her father did. So maybe she would be an improvement on his "presidency". But that really is saying very little!
Well, Daniel, I am encouraged that all these splinters are splitting the log. Lots of conservative front groups out there of which she is only one. Vote for non-"dominate," vote for "abstinance". Whatever. if anything, Liz appears a more educated version of she-who-quits- and calls it- virtue. Maybe people will be confused and not know for which lying, attractive female to throw their lot in with. It does complicate the judging, does it not?
It sure does cause a red-blooded dude to pause a minute on the way to the pols. I am guessing here.
:-P (Ouch!) Well, Meghan McCain always seemed like a sensible Republican person in her views, but I haven't seen much of her lately. Is she still relevant?
I agree, Meghan McCain seems to have a LOT more sense than her other party members. But Liz would be scary in power, just as her Father was, in my opinion. But surely there must be more female Republicans than Palin and these two who could represent them in a more sensible way than they are being led now by Rush Limbaugh. Personally, I believe Meghan is ashamed of her political party and she has good reason to be.
I'd say that this group is making the case for Dick to be tried in court. Take the single issue of waterboarding as an example. I've said before the boyz who live in the back alley have to play by back alley rules, but we can't make those rules a matter of policy because then we suddenly find ourselves -- all of us -- living by the back alley rules, and that isn't going to be very pretty.

Yet this group is intent on pursuing that very course. They will continue to do so, unless or until it is established in a court of law that violations of the law will be addressed, even when those violations arise from the seat of power.

It is not, nor should it be, a partisan issue. It is simply a question of honor, of duty, and of law.
I hope Cheney is made to answer for his law breaking. He has bragged about breaking laws and I believe the Attorney General should prosecute him. Not sure why Obama does not want the law to be upheld in his case, but I am not very happy with that stand from him, a former law professor.
Jacquin, I just do not think any president should allow laws to be broken and overlooked because prosecution would be messy and disruptive. We are supposed to be a nation of laws and the POTUS is supposed to uphold the US Constitution and the laws of the land. Heck, the GOP impeached Clinton for sexual indiscretions, or at least not telling the truth about them. How important was that to the reputation of the US compared with breaking international law concerning torture? Not very, I would say.
Meghan McCain was on The Joy Behar Show the other night. I'll take 5 of her over any Channey any day.
