We moved all the time when I was little, so no memories stand out. But the first house I owned and had my children in is the one I have the best memories of. A 2-story, 4 bedroom house on the east side of Joliet, IL, with a big yard and porch. Lots of good times happened there.
Still have most of them.

The house we raised our kids in was my dream home, 20 acres, hardly any neighbors.  lots of room for all 7 of us.  Now that I'm remarried we just purchased a new house a few months ago, lots of windows and plenty of room for everyone to come home for the holidays(we each have 5 kids).

small, hardwood floors waxed with paste wax, attic full of good stuff to explore, pull-down stairs, porch swing, shade trees, milk delivery, newspaper folded into a square, vegetable garden

I took my kids to the house in Pasadena, CA where I lived in the WW2 years, we move back to SoCa from New York/New Jersey in 1980. The current owners were amazed when I showed them some things they didn't know about their house that I remembered from ~70 years ago.

Yeah?  And those things were. . . .?
