The phone call in the middle of the night, telling you your son has been in a motorcycle wreck.
The doc telling me my husband (and father) has cancer.
Tornado sirens. (heard them waay too often up home)

I remember when the Dr. told me I had cancer and yes it was malignant, she took it harder than I did. She was rubbing my arm with tears in her eyes telling me we are going to get through this. And we did.
