Birds and Bees

Where were you when you first heard the incredible news?  Who told you?  What was your initial reaction?

 I just remember we had a friend whose Mom was a nurse. She told us the truth. We laughed so hard. We thought she was lying...lol.  Otherwise we just got our little kit..'er packet with all the necessary things and a booklet

A group of 4 or 5 girls were on the playground (we were 9, I think, late learners; the country kids probably knew stuff but back then they didn't play with us).  One of our friends parents had divorced (!) and her mom remarried a man who adopted this little girl and she got her last name changed (!).  She told us everything and we were disgusted and, like you Imagine, pretty disbelieving.  I guess we all checked it out somehow.  But my mom didn't try to tell me anything 'til later.  And from what she said, she wouldn't have told me much.  I told her I'd heard the news already.
