TBD

TBD on Ning

I'm going to be driving cross-country with my three fuzzbots in a couple of weeks and wondered if anyone has any wisdom to impart before I do something for which I will never be forgiven--by either the cats or my beloved human.

At the moment, the plan is to drive 8-9 hours a day, and I've booked motels that are cat-friendly. I have disposable litter pans and trash bags packed. This is just the tip of an iceberg, I'm sure, so any/all advice is welcome.

Thanks!

BRILLIANT! And what a beautiful kitter! She obviously thought she needed a little colour--although, being a cali.... :D

Of course, my kitters will not be allowed to read this thread. ;)

PS: About Sherpa bags: line them with "crib liners" and it minimizes the p&p factor. (She said delicately.)
Provided you buy the proper size, Depends should work as well. Same design principle.
How can you get them to hold still while you put them on??? Do you cut a hole for the tail?
,-P
Oh, c'mon, Chez! Everyone knows you put the sticky side against their fur! Sheesh!

Now then Suuse. We will expect pictures of the fuzbots in the car. We will expect travel updates. We will expect news. We will expect stories. And - we expect that you will travel with great care, and travel well. Did I mention that we will expect more pictures!?! Yes indeed. Advice comes with a price !
Oh, the photo album will be chock-full of cat photos...mixed with sunrises and sunsets. Might even include a snap or two of the humans (all two of us).

And war stories? DO YOU DOUBT IT?!
Nope! Which is why we want the goods darlin'! Travel safe and well . All our good thoughts will be with you.
We're officially calling it "The Kibble of Wrath Tour". I think I'll design a tshirt. ;)
Rightio Suuse!

Are we there yet? aRe wE tHeRe YeT? ARE WE THERE YET ????!!!!!????

We are all dying to know just how the road trip did dong go . . . You told me Boyo was a quite the drama queen ... so once you are all settled in and cozy - spill the beans darlin'!!! (AND - I just KNOW you took pictures - duh!)
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

The kitters are currently tucked into the master bedroom (with en suite bath) and are relishing the bit where they weren't tucked into their carriers in the wee hours of the morning and put in the car and driven another 500 miles.

They were troupers, actually--and fairly good-natured about the whole ordeal. Boyo had a bad spot when he was taking out his angst on Lulu (who was completely unimpressed by his hissing displays), but for the most part, it was very easy going. The very worst was leaving Kingman AZ at 4am to make sure we made it across the Mojave Desert and then through the high desert before it got too warm. Temps there range between 100 - 115F this time of year, and I didn't want to risk cats or car in that heat.

We rolled into LA around 9am yesterday, and immediately tucked the cats in our room, gave them food and kibble, introduced them to their new litter box, and then let them unwind. I went back into the room an hour later to find that each cat had already settled on a spot--Boyo's being the highest, of course, at the top of a bookcase.

I can't thank you all enough for the advice and the good thoughts--the whole trip was long, but pretty much painless and angst-free.

Did I mention: THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
