TBD

TBD on Ning

At this writing (Monday morning), 135 sq miles of Los Angeles county hill- and mountain-side have burned...and two firefighters have lost their lives. The fire is currently "5% contained"--which is politspeak for "uncontained".

Those of us who choose to live in such places understand the risks--I'm not asking for sympathy here. What we need--desperately--is your good thoughts for the 2,500 firefighters who have been at this for almost a week and who are already exhausted and facing another week+ of hellish conditions.

Whatever prayer or chant or good energy you have you can pass their way would be most appreciated.

Actually, I live about an hour away...but I know that area well and love it.
WEDNESDAY MORNING: 140,000 acres (290 sq. miles) burned; fire is 22% contained. Mt. Wilson is still there--although not safe by a long shot. The fire is moving east...and there are now 4,128 firefighters on the line--including, I've been told, a friend's husband.

Thank you all very much for your good thoughts.

Hoping wishing praying meditating focusing and did I mention praying for rain? This and the fires of British Colombia is a constant light motif of concern. Please may it abate with no further loss of land and lives. SOON!

Now would be good.

Hey - ZEUS! Your daughter Artemis here (ya know - that kid you gave all wildlife and the forests to) - LISTEN UP !!!! ;-D
SATURDAY: 49% contained; two firefighters dead, three injured. Over 290 sq MILES burned (160,000+ acres). Full containment expected 9/15.

Cause of fire: arson; investigation continues; now considered a homicide investigation, given the deaths of the firefighters.
