what can i tell you about james garner that you probably don't already know .. he was maverick on tv in the 50's and was one of the only actors that could go back and forth between the movies and tv and it was accepted .. and back in the 50's and early 60's there a was a clear line drawn in the sand as to where you stood when it came to tv or the movies .. tv was the sworn enemy to the movies and if you jumped to tv they usually didn't forget it and let you jump back to the movies and vice versa .. but somethin about james garner was different .. he was at home in either place and now 60 years later you see a lot of movie stars who wouldn't be caught dead on tv scramblin for roles on tv .. james garner did it when it just wasn't done .. he always seemed like the kinda guy you'd like to have a beer with . he was 86 years old so we can't say he didn't have a long enough life .. they didn't say if he had any kinda ailment towards the end .. i'm hopin his exit was peaceful .. r.i.p. jim .. r.i.p. ...

Mymom always clamed that she and James play together and kids growing up . Don't know if it was true or not . He was a good man . A romantic for sure in his movies . Age judt got better with him ....

Garner was one of the good ones. From Maverick in the 50's to Eight Simple Rules in the 00's he could make you laugh or be very serious.
He is also known for his lawsuit against MCA Universal over the unfair payment of royalties for The Rockford Files. Most actors were being shorted by accounting tricks. They were afraid to complain for fear of being blackballed. He sued and won a settlement of about $16 million. It changed the way all actors were paid.
RIP Jim.

Yes indeed he was one of the good ones.  And since we all have to go sometime, 86 is a pretty good run.  I hope it was peaceful and in his sleep.  He seemed like something of an "unlikely" leading man, and Maverick was a terrific role for him and he followed that up with Rockford Files.  One of my favorite movies, was Murphy's Law, loved that film and especially his role.

That video made me cry...a really sweet couple and a true love story! Thanks for posting Crest, that was amazing to see them grow old together with such affection for each other.

i never knew he was even married .. i always thought he was one of them secretly gay actors that had a phony back story and they kept it all under wraps for his image like rock hudson or somethin ..
