TBD on Ning

Sometimes I get on my lesson mount and start to warmup and I realize that my body is not connecting too well to the messages that my brain is transmiting. That happened on wednesday but hadn't happened for quite a while. So I wasn't happy with the quality or consistency of our bends or impulsion. Today I wanted to try to overcome this and I did. Better bends, more consistency and better control of my rein of opposition. So I guess my body returned from wherever. Maybe it's old age.

Hahahaha! Being betrayed by your body/mind is a PAIN! Glad it's turned around, Carol.

Old age, sleeping "wrong," not feeling well, or about a zillion factors we can't anticipate, can screw us up.

One of the toughest things to overcome for those of us who aren't "professional" riders, is the time we spend doing things other than riding or conditioning for being in the saddle. Professional riders spend serious time conditioning and training every day and generally have access to the best trainers, facilities, and horses. Money is usually not a factor and they don't work jobs outside the industry, generally.

There's no substitute for a single-minded focus and daily time in the saddle with top-flight instructors. It's an uphill battle for the "recreational" rider.
