Would u as a parent, (and hypathetical parent if u have no kids) let your kids try to do something like this if they wanted to?

Ok-folks---interestin question here!

Here is an actual article! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33366623/ns/world_news-asiapacific?GT1=...

Now as u can see from the title of this thread--it brings up an interesting question...As a parent--how much would u actually allow for a child to do--? At what age would you throw caution to the wind, and let your child just do what they want to do? What is the responsibility of a parent(s) when it comes to children and sporting events??

I posted this subject on my new group T-he B-est D-ang S-ports

http://teebeedee.ning.com/group/thebestdangsports/forum/topics/here...

Yep!!! This is a cheap plug to get u to come and check out, (and hopefully join as well), my new group. Come on over and discuss this and other fascinating questions!! If u wish not to come over--it is ok--we can discuss it here too!

Yup, I have the same philosophy as this lady about kids.

Not in this lifetime. Unless, ofcourse, she took me along. I would die at sea, but it would beat being in NJ.

My daughter, TheInquiringGrasshopper, is 15 years old, now. I give her a very wide berth, but that's because the kind of kid that she is. Sarah keeps close communication, and for me that is the key to confidence and trust. (Although, I could be wrong. I have been known to be wrong on numerous occassions.)
In a bright pink yacht… Solo…
If I went, it wouldn’t be solo.
Let her go for it if she is trained well enough.
not my baby. I didnt change all those diapers, or sacrifice that vodka to watch her sink at sea! Not without me, anyway.
