How the waves lap at your ankles and the sunrise and the smell and the color of the water and the seaweed that floats on top and the distant horizon and the dreams you can dream of foreign lands and the seagulls and the surfers and the teenage girls preening in front of the lifeguards and the feel of the sand beneath your toes and the ocean liners and the wave runners and the dolphins and the colorful beach umbrellas and the smell of suntan lotion.

And the peace and serenity I find at dusk on the 59th street beach.
