Why Maducks is so special to me...
We've been there through life's sorrow and pain
But together we have always endured the strain
We've argued and bickered and made each other mad
But if you weren't my sister, life would be so sad
We've cried till we laughed and laughed till we cried
Sometimes for no reason we didn't even know why
When we're not together our bond is just as strong
Because we are sisters we know when something is wrong
We've whispered our deepest secrets only sisters could share
I love my sister dearly because she really cares
So whether we are together or we are far apart
you're my sister, my friend and forever in my heart.
Love ya , Miami...

Raelein,
I'm thrilled to be making writer friends as well!

I've had that as my nickname since my kids would bring home their friends to play and then later as adolescences to hang out and even jam. So, like a mother duck has her young following her I became that for all of them! They all loved coming to my house. They told me that even though there were rules in our home (non too harsh) it was a safe, loving, enjoyable place to be. These seniments came from all of them, whether from good homes or extremely dysfunctional ones. Both of my children (now adults), and myself were musical lovers. I played piano, my daughter learned as well, and my son is a great self taught guitarist (both accustic&electric, since age 10). Many many times some of their friends would gather and join in with their instrumental talents as well. The ones who didn't play anything would sing. My home or yard was always full. Those occassions aren't as often any more, but what great times they were and are! Now as adults they thank us for being there. It's great too hear and see that your time spent on family was and is not wasted.

Since I had a very dysfunctional family (neglected by an alcoholic mother, a work-aholic father, and was sexually abused from age 7-14) I made a vow to myself that I would always be there for my own family. I'm a firm believer that in all bad things good comes from it. I wouldn't have made that vow my lifes mission if I hadn't experienced that. Neither would my book have been written. Blessings, (Sandy), Maducks :)

Hi Maducks! I am a freelance writer. I have poetry published, but that was when I was younger. Havn't submitted anything in years. Am working on poetry, and several books. (I always work on more than one thing.) I have been blocked for quite awhile now. The only thing I know to do is to start writing again, even if it's tripe, until it gets better again. What do you do when you're blocked? Congratulations on getting a book published!
I send best wishes to you! Happy Tuesday! -Raelein

Reiki is energy work that one does by laying hands on people; some believe that it was what Jesus used to do when He healed people by just touching them; of course I'm not as good as Him :)
Look it up on the internet; its pretty cool! When I do it, I can detect areas of concerns where there could be cancer or an inflammation brewing. Each session lasts about one hour; my hands get really hot and people have all kind of experiences, from feeling light and relaxed to having out of body and past life experiences; some cry, some laugh; it brings a release of emotions.
Go to google and you'll see....
