TBD

TBD on Ning

Post something from history you remember from each day of the month...Each new day has something from history to reflect upon. It can be something you remember from your own past if you choose......Just have fun with it.

Discussions on subjects welcome. There may be only one subject or there could be many in one day...depends on how many people respond, but subjects will be changing as the days change, so try not to let any discussions lead into the next days discussions. Hope we can keep it going..should be interesting seeing what people come up with.Today is Jan 26th so I am posting this to start us off:

January 27...On this day in history:

On Jan. 27, 1967, Astronauts Virgil I. ''Gus'' Grissom, Edward H. White and Roger B. Chaffee died in a flash fire during a test aboard their Apollo I spacecraft at Cape Kennedy, Fla.

Caseyjo, in downtown Philadelphia Ben Franklin's Print Shop is open to the public. Among other atifacts, they have his printing press. It's amazing anything got done!

If anyone noticed I deleted some history about Edison which was wrong... He did not invent the light-bulb, he improved upon it & developed a long lasting light bulb....Sometime in the 1870's I believe....

Thinking of this Quinn...They must have been reading by candlelight in the US Capitol when the sun was not out & we used a printing press something like this.....

1998....President Clinton says "I want to say one thing to the American people I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky"...Now...How many times has this been brought up on TBD?....I had to post it for the TBD memories....:)

On this date in 1802, Congress passed an act calling for a library to be established within the U.S. Capitol.
