hold on --- taxpayer money IS the issue, pacis. your 'obliging me' failed to give any links to back up your breakdown of appropriations. is that omission to suggest that you don't really know? cuz i wasn't able to find anything to substantiate your claims.

for the record, i never 'attacked' the president. so for the love of god, stop accusing me of saying and doing things i don't say and do. i've previously (maybe on another post) asked you to stop, so please do so. it's no secret that this administration doesn't skimp on their family fun expenditures....our tax dollars. i'm not his travel agent and i don't make this stuff up --- it's all over the internet and news reports. he stayed at a $20,000 a week house on martha's vineyard for ramadan, and a $4,000 a nite house in hawaii during christmas. that's a lot of money to spend on a vacation when there are so many US citizens who didn't even have a christmas dinner....or a warm bed, much less a swanky room with all the trimmings.

The basis for a declaration of martial law comes from three potential scenarios.

The first scenario is the declaration of a National Health Emergency in response to the H5N1 Avian Flu Pandemic.

The second is the threat of the financial collapse of the US economy.

The third threat in the possibility of a catastrophic geological event such as a major earth quake or a volcanic eruption.

Some type of terrorist event is also a possible scenario.

The National Emergency Centers Act was introduced to deal with all of these threats.
The stated purpose of the Act is to provide "temporary" housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster".
The opinion of the author of the article Preparing for Civil Unrest in America, Michel Chossudovsky, is that "what we are dealing with are FEMA internment camps. HR 645 states that the camps can be used to " meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security."

"Once a person is arrested and interned in a FEMA camp located on a military base, that person would in all likelihood, under a national emergency, fall under the de facto jurisdiction of the Military: civilian justice and law enforcement habeas corpus would no longer apply."

Improper implementation of this Act and other related Acts is what caused concerned State Legislatures to react by introducing declarations of sovereignty. If there is no improper implementation of Federal Laws or acts then there this legislation will have no negative effect. It is a precautionary move to eliminate the fear
of abuse.

My information is also based on article by Stephen Lendman named Martial Law Alert Over Swine Flu.

Information on these subjects can be found on the Global Research website. Many links are provided in the articles including links to government websites.
www.globalresearch.com

It is my opinion that the legislation and other actions related to martial law being implemented at this time would be occurring no matter which political party is in office and cannot be attributed only to the Obama Administration. I am placing this information on this blog for the enlightenment of all interested parties and not to promote any particular political agenda.

Final comment for now is that I do not see how asking the Federal Government to consult with the legislature of a particular state before declaring martial law in that state is not in alignment with the
"public interest"

paaaahdon me, pacis...the information on the link said 'expense allowance'. whatever that means. the point is, it doesn't matter cuz it's all taxpayer money anyway...salary, expense money and what have you. curious, what information do you have to back up the breakdown?

Evidence to back up the statement that we are closer than ever to a declaration of " Martial Law " being declared can be found by observing the reactions of several state legislatures to this potential threat.

The legislatures that have passed or are preparing to pass a declaration of sovereignty under the Tenth
Amendment of the Constitution of The United States of America to protect their citizens from a Martial Law
declaration are as follows: Oklahoma, New Hampshire, Washington, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, and Missouri.

The New Hampshire sovereignty resolution states that if the federal government establishes " Martial Law "..
within one of the states... without the consent of the legislature of that State, that this would be ,
" a nullification of the Constitution."
The resolution states that the result of this would be " All powers previously delegated to the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States shall revert to the several states individually.

This reaction by the legislatures was in response to the National Emergency Centers Act (HR 645) which was
introduced in January 2009 and past acts establishing the power of the President of the United States to
declare Martial Law in a National Emergence.

You just did OC.

I think it is fair to ask OC for the positive..everything is fair in Love & War as the saying goes. What is even more fair is asking her to research the stuff she holds to "Matter" before she posts things that are not true. Doesn't she care about giving out good decent fact instead of so many lies meant to rile up the fanatical and the uneducated? Is the opposite point of view the good things? I don't even get that. The man is a classic example of what we teach our children to do in our society..Go to college, study hard, make something of yourselves, take good care of your children, help others in need etc, etc, etc,. Are these things a opposite point of view? Obama has done all of the above. Is it to much to ask people to look for the good in others? If we become fanatical and cannot look for good then we are in for a very rough road ahead.

his budget is $50K, pacis. and since you're a big fan of documentation, here's my "everyday people" source of information:

and btw...how do YOU know how those monies are appropriated?

I have only been a member of TBD for a short time, but I do not think it is fair to ask OC to post the bad and the good about President Obama and his administration. She goes to the work of posting her point of view which appears to get a lot of attention. Any one who wants to post the opposite point of view which has
been called the good things the president and his administration have done should feel free to do so. I would like to see those posts. I am interested to see if they get the same amount of attention as those posted by OC.

The question was asked to whom does the CEO of GM report?

The answer can be found in an interview given by the CEO of GM Fritz Henderson.
The report on the interview was made by Tahman Bradley of ABC news on April 5, 2009.
Fritz Henderson stated that he has many masters including White House officials, but he reports to the
chairman of the board of directors.

The board of directors of all publicly traded corporations are responsible to report to the share holders. The
Federal Government owns 60% of GM which gives it the controlling interest in that corporation.

The Federal Government having the controlling interest in a private corporation does come under the realm
of a socialistic action due to its indirect control and influence over the CEO and the board of directors. As an example the action taken to force the former CEO to resign. This does not fit the exact definition of socialism that is why I said it is within the realm of socialistic practices. There are enough elements of the
technical definition to give the above mentioned action and all similar actions the socialistic practices designation.

I said positive OC...Can you come up with a positive list of things about Obama? You are looking for the negative and you will find it even at the risk of posting things that are not true. It seems you are not researching everything you post, so when Pacis asked you to research some of the stuff you had on the list you responded by telling him to do it. That tells me a lot about you OC.

I don't & cannot read everything on TBD so If you have posted anything good about Obama direct me to it. In the meantime I have not seen or heard anything positive from you re: this administration. How do you know no one cares about your political philosophy?....If no-one knows what it is, I guess it is because you want it that way....BTW...What is your philosophy?

RE: Bush...There are things I liked and disliked about the man. I hate to admit it, but I did feel sorry for him sometimes. I looked at him like a human being, not like a monster. I expressed my feelings, but I did not wear my guns to rallies or post lies about him on-line. Bush was a man, not as monster....That should tell you something about how I look at human kind. If I see big long lists of nothing but negative stuff about anyone I tend to question it.
