RE: John Hinckley – Professional Competence of Nicole Rafanello

Dear Judge Friedman:

Enclosed is a collection of documents that I have forwarded to the Washington Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), The U.S. Department of Justice, and the Washington, DC Office of the U.S. Attorney.

The documents discuss my personal clinical experience with Nicole Rafanello (and related issues). Ms. Rafanello is a psychologist affiliated with St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, DC, and served as an expert witness before your court regarding the mental competence of John Hinckley.

I request that you refer this matter to the Washington Field Office of the FBI for criminal investigation.
Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Gary Freedman, Esq.

John Hinckley shot President Reagan in 1981. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity, despite the expert testimony of Park Dietz. Park Dietz thinks everybody is sane, that's why the prosecution loves him.

Jacob Rabinow, an electrical engineer, uses an interesting mental technique to slow himself down when work on an invention requires more endurance than intuition: "When I have a job that takes a lot of effort, slowly, I pretend I'm in jail. If I'm in jail, time is of no consequence. In other words, if it takes a week to cut this, it'll take a week. What else have I got to do? I'm going to be here for twenty years. See? This is a kind of mental trick. Otherwise you say, 'My God, it's not working,' and then you make mistakes. My way, you say time is of absolutely no consequence."

Gary has all the time in the world. And THAT'S truly frightening.
