I am a native New Yorker who has been living in DC for a little over four years. After living in DC for the last couple of years, I have a far greater understanding of why nothing every seems to gets done in this country (lol).
On a more personal note, my interests are eclectic and include politics (I am a very proud liberal), literature, movies (primarily foreign and indie), and writing. People describe me as a serious and conscientious person who has a good sense of humor and can laugh at herself.
On a professional level, I am a research psychologist (Ph.D.) and I have conducted a wide array of applied social science research (e.g., the efficacy of various national educational reform policies, educational equity issues, and domestic violence). It's fair to say that my research interests parallel my own personal interests in social justice.
After I sent the comment it occurred to me it could be Versailles. My wife and I were at Versailles in early spring of 1991 (It is hard to believe that was 18 years ago). We got lost on the Paris subway system going to catch the train to Versailles and did not get to Louis XIV place until after 2:30 PM.
In 1996 we did a Scandinavian cruse that had us in St. Petersburg for 2 full days. Versailles in many ways looks a lot like Catherine the Great's Summer Palace. The museum there (The State Hermitage Museum) is said to rival the Louvre in many ways (The story is the Russians looted Germany at the end of WWII). Please excuse my misspellings. I never got much past grade school level.
