That's why I broke down & got an e-reader: more availability of SF than at our libr. or local bookstores; also more of lesser-known authors, such as British, Canadian, etc. (can't find them at the libr. or local stores either). So altho I still love paper bks, I also love the e-reading!
I feel you Baja, ever since I got my first eReader, I find that there is a of lot Sci Fi available. My 'to read list' is filling up. :-)
Hi Fans,
I've been reading a lot of fantasy and sci-fi lately--mostly Terry Pratchett and James Tiptree, Jr. Maybe a little too much Pratchett because the political news these days is sounding too much like the plot of a Diskworld novel. I've been a fan of fantasy and sci fi since the late 50's when there really wasn't much to choose from other than the masters, Fantasy and Sci Fi Magazine and fanzines. I was limited by what the public library had to offer, so I read the sci fi classics and the Best of F and SF collections. Now there is so much to choose from, but I have settled into fantasy more than sci fi. I prefer the quiet of space where no one can hear you scream--but the sound tracks still manage to crank it up to ear-splitting levels. Exhibit One: Star Wars.
Thanks for the compliments on the group, but remember it's you guys that make it all work. :-)
I agree; this group is one of the goodest too!
Hi gang. Please excuse my absence from the group. I was recently invited to be a Beta tester for a new MMORTS game for Facebook. So I've been having fun playing the this multiplayer strategy game.
I'm still monitoring my groups.
