TBD

TBD on Ning

godchild

i've been sulking

we didn't want them to knock our house down

but that is precisely why they had come

bulldozers burping: "only doin' my job"

just then everything i know goes black

stalwartly cradled into the fire

this is the story of the beginning

of what man will sooner than later be;

wax and wane but with certainty not yet.

there has been growth in humanity

our next stride may even involve you

we watch the smoke curl setting a course

to dance on the wisp of a whim it takes form

stupefied now by the flow of patterns at play

surely such choreography requires some intelligence

it contains beauty, there was thought put into this

therefore can be reasoned with

not necessarily so

you can read into this at will but

a lot of life is hit and miss

that's exactly how we got here

the only reason we exist

all in all

pretty amazing of nature

pretty shameful for man

no matter how you look at it

it's time to move on

you can either come with us

or stay

there will be a blaze

sent to lick this place clean

I'm just trying to tell You

If You stop and pay attention

You too will hear it coming.

our life and livelihood reduced to embers

while man's great machines exact their intent

back against the wall: "anyway you like it"

that's when i conveniently forget

you are where i no return came from

Mike,
I love this poem.....Does it herald 2012 or the "transition" of TBD2 or both? ~Mari
funny Maricel,
I guess like any words
You can read into it at will
and as long as it motivates for the better
I'm all for it.

But these particular words started
spilling out after I came up with yet
another story concept.
I don't have the attention span to
flesh it out so I settle for the poem.

the concept is of mans next step in evolution.
how children are being born that are not
particularly socially acceptable.
their brains are capable of things
that up to this point were at best speculative.
they will be lucky to make it out alive.

this one child
deemed 'godchild'
by others in the village
for his fresh perspective on reality
and abilities that seem magical.
until one day
Like a cornered squirrel He is
confronted by men of smaller mental capacity
(must've had Palestine on My Mind)
and takes the matter of survival
into his own hands.
the concept is of mans next step in evolution.
how children are being born that are not
particularly socially acceptable.
their brains are capable of things
that up to this point were at best speculative.
they will be lucky to make it out alive.

Michael,
This stanza made me think of Indigo Children.
I think you are one. Are you?
Hey Maricel,
never heard of Indigo Children
but I looked it up and I can see
definite similarities and
provides a potential market.

but on the flip side of the coin,
Nancy Ann Tappe and the like
got a pretty bad rap.

onto the godchild concept,
I saw it more drawing on
that ol scifi movie
Village of the Damned.

except the kid ain't evil
although, people do get hurt
when sensibilities are offended.

or some such crap.
but thanks for the interest.
Did you see the movie: GATTACA.

Vincent is the "godchild" who is untampered by genetic engineering in a world where your genes determine your place in society.
