trip to Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, tomorrow, after work? Thats "Da Soo" to a Yooper.
I'm old school, I don't have any fancy music systems that come from the sky....I have CDs. My ride came with OnStar....I think that gave me a bunch of radio channels, but I never used it and it eventually expired.
Its about a four hour drive.
I have various amounts of classic rock, bluegrass, cajun, blues, old timey, Motown, reggae, and folk, and probably other stuff too. I don't possess any highbrow music.
What would you listen to, and what do you think I should listen to?

You gotta throw in a little Ray Lamontagne...I am sorta hooked on him right now. The Civil Wars is another fav....they would be right up you alley.
The concert was fabulous...outdoor venue, gorgeous evening, full moon....and 4 hours of music.
Ray's lights were interesting, not a bright white light on the entire stage. Soft, muted, diffused rainbow colors, a different color on each member. After he came out and sang a few numbers for his encore he closed the show all by himself, his harmonica and acoustic guitar, standing in a buttery yellow pool of light he sang "Rock & Roll and the Radio". It was magical.
George and I do a lot of highway driving, Stir, and we found that upbeat, loud music will keep us awake for the monotonous stretches, while soothing, quiet music is good for keeping us calmer in heavier traffic.
George and I listen to all kinds of music, but we favor rock, Mannheim Steamroller, and oldies.
I think you should listen to whatever kind of music you are in the mood to hear.
Here you go....My friend made this cd for me because all I ever wanted to do was dance .....
