Someone one my facebook page told the story about an army general trying to
explain daylight savings time to the chief of the Apache Indian tribe. When he
finished with his explanation he asked the chief what he thought. The old indian
thought for a moment and said "Only the government would think that to cut off the
top of a blanket and sew it on to the bottom would make it a longer blanket."
And that pretty much sums it up for me.

Speaking of springing forward and falling back, I'm almost done with "The Sparrow", Robbie!
Now that's the kind of book I like: thoughtful and challenging to preconceptions. I think there's a sequel. I'm going to check the library to see if they have it. I hope it won't disappoint. It's not very often that sequels live up to the first work.
For those of you who haven't read it, when a deep
space traveller returns to Earth, he hasn't aged like the folks at home have. When they fall back, it is a major adjustment.
