Well Slim, I know that when you start with a can of cream of mushroom and throw in some frozen green beans and a little milk, bake for about half an hour and then sprinkle on some of those fried onions or, if you're my Aunt Tina; almonds, you are then ready for any family reunion.
Tastes just like childhood.
My daughter makes some kind of cheesy potatoes that are pretty good. She uses a can of cream of mushroom soup, shredded potatoes, cheddar cheese, and it is topped with the crunchy fried onions too.
That sounds good, but shredding potatoes sounds like a lot of work. Do you grate them? Or do you have to have a fancy machine?
I've never actually made them myself. If I did, I would shred them with a grater by hand. But my daughter makes hers with frozen shredded taters. I like hers, but just think they would be better with fresh shredded rather than frozen.
1 can cream of mushroom soup.
1 can chicken breast.
1 can diced green chilies
1 pkg cream cheese.
dash of S&P
1/2 cup co/jack cheese.
Toss it in a slo-cooker on low stir it up every now and then...2hrs won't kill it or burn it. :-)
Serve w/tortilla chips but I like it on sliced french bread.
And let us know how it turns out Slim!
One can tomato soup
2 slices of light bread....or dark if you prefer
two slices of cheddar cheese.
Butter one side of each slice of bread, lay one slice in a skillet and lay the cheese on top.....brown, then add the second slice, flip the whole thing over and brown the other side.
Heat the tomato soup in a sauce pan
Serve hot with or without potato chips
I prefer with the chips.
empty out the cans, put a string between the ends of the cans, POW! your telephone. That's my receipe. Throw out the soup.
If you steal a candle from the formal dining room and rub the wax on the string the sound carries better.
Just don't let Mom find out.
