Around Thanksgiving I found this great wine imported from Holland called Chocovine and it has a screw top.

I've been drinking more white wine lately; I think I'm all red wined out...

 

Someone told me that screw tops are becoming a new trend. I've bought a few bottles that way. Nice and convenient...

I've heard the same thing about screw tops, Quinn, and that they actually somehow preserve the flavor better than corks, or something like that, but I think there's a snobbery around wine w/a screw top that might prevent it from really taking off - do you?

I only started drinking wine recently. Before that, I hadn't drank wine in well over 20 years. I'm still not a big fan, but I'll have a glass of Merlot w/my guy. It's lost on me somehow.

More in the summer. A salad and a nice chilled white wine on a warm day is a nice dinner.

There are actually some really good quality wines in boxes these days, but I usually get the kind with a cork. Mostly malbec from Argentina recently, but I always like a good Alexander Valley cabernet as well. Or a really oakey chardonnay. Not a fan of the trend toward unoaked wine.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, and I very rarely drink at all.  Since I'm still an irresponsible drinker when I do drink (just like when I was a kid), i'd probably get more bang for my buck with wine by the box.
