WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House will vote Tuesday on a resolution of disapproval of Rep. Joe Wilson, the South Carolina Republican who yelled "you lie" during President Barack Obama's health-care speech to a joint session of Congress last week.

The House Democratic leadership met Monday evening and agreed to move forward with a resolution of disapproval, according to two Democratic leadership aides.

The resolution "goes directly to the issue of his conduct on the House floor," said Kristie Greco, spokeswoman for House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina.

Discussion at Monday evening's leadership meeting was about "how this speaks to the breach of decorum alone, and not addressing the issue sets a precedent for bad behavior," Greco said.

"We're not the British Parliament for a reason," she added. Watch how Wilson compares with combative politicians in other countries »

The House Democratic caucus will discuss the resolution at a meeting scheduled for noon Tuesday, so the measure is not expected to reach the floor until the afternoon.

This is going to backfire on the dems.
Because Repubs won't back it and so the act to censure will appear partisan?

The repubs aren't crossing the aisle anyway. What difference does it make?
He needs to pay, then just maybe the rest of the disrespectful creeps will think twice before forgetting where they are.
I just hope it doesn't make him more of a martyr in ding-dong land where he'll pick up lots of funds and kudos, (and worst of all, more of news-cycle attention paid to him).
Ok folks don't fall down and have a heart attack, what Wilson did was wrong not because he called Obama a liar but because of where he did it. It was not the time or place.
If he was a student and yelled out durning an asembly he would have to take his punishment.
If Wilson has to face his fellow memebers then so be it,but it must be aplllied to all.

Yes, but all is relative here. Historians believe this is the FIRST TIME EVER a congressman has yelled at a President during a speech to a joint session of Congress. The FIRST TIME EVER. That alone speaks volumes about this mans character.

I find it interesting you have no problem with him calling Obama a liar, just the place he did it in. It perhaps is news to you but the point Obama was making when Wilson said 'you lie', was actually, in fact, TRUE. Call him a liar on points where the facts prove he is a liar, but to call the President a liar, when what he was saying is verifiably TRUE, well, that says a lot about the man shouting 'you lie'.
This is one time you won't get an arguement out of me bad manners are bad manners no matter who you are.
