I didn't think so.  Me neither.

Why would it be inconsistent of me Tim?

I believe Jesus Christ is the one true way, yet many of my friends at AOL are pagans who I can respect and care for without reservation.

I am am a theist, yet I can care for and respect Wanda and CaseyJo who are self- proclaimed atheists because despite our different approaches to perceiving reality, we all share a desire to help the underdog and better society.

I respect Skeeter because he is open minded and accepting that others can have divergent views and he is at least candid with what he will and will not tolerate in his discussion group.

I have no clue why you persist on being an irritant. You and I don't think alike. You knew that since the beginning. My being an irritant to you warrants deeper questioning since I have done nothing to "propagate" my way of thinking. You are usually the one egging me to defend my stance. You think my thoughts are silly and frivolous, I think yours are pedantic and surprisingly rigid for someone who prides himself in being intellectually open-minded. Feel free to continue with your sanctimonious put downs, but let me warn you, I can get really nasty when riled Sir.

Let me clarify before you start spreading innuendos on why I left MA. I left because I was smarting from being scammed big time by someone on another network...the tension in MA was exacerbating my disillusionment. I l also left because Skeeter left his group, and it was the only group left that I had an interest in participating. No censorship was involved in my departure.

Steve, you could do me a favor and invite Skeeter here. I have reservations signing up for EONS since it says in big, bold letters that it is a site for BOOMERS which I am not. At least here on TBD, it says for those 40 and over.

Skeeter was schizophrenic when it came to what he would tolerate.  He said that he would allow debate, so long as there weren't personal attacks.  But when it came down to actual debates, he forbade atheists to debate theists in discussions that theists started.  But in discussions that atheists started, he allowed theists like you to enter and debate.  Skeeter also felt free to put down people who followed his originally stated rules, scorning them and changing the rules mid-stream.  He lost my respect as a moderator when he violated his own rules and made new rules up as he went along.  He was a practicing censor and a hypocritical moderator.

The reason I'm irritating you is because of your statement that you think no one responds to your discussions because they are thought provoking.  You and that so-called gen-x superiority of yours.  I lost interest in your discussions because you aren't interested in coherent thought.  Your replies to logical interaction rebuke thought; they don't provoke it.  You can't tolerate the scrutiny of logic, and you consistently bail from discussions that get even close to exposing the nonsense of your most cherished imaginations.

You have made comments here on TBD that implied that you were unhappy with what you considered to be censorship on MA.  You may have had other reasons for leaving, but your statements implied that that was one of them.

Wendel: I feel sometimes that I am more of a drive by irritant to a lot of the people here.

Irritation draws people; the more the better! Irritation sells:)

Where cliques are concerned I just post anyway. I don't personally care if anybody responds but if I say something or contribute long enough somebody may say something back. However, I never care one way or another - to borrow from Archy "Expression is the need of my soul" I say it - if it get read and commented on so be it one way or the other
Speaking of irritation, look at the number of responses this topic has drawn by comparison to the rest! After all isn't the tone of this board's initial words just a wee bit provoking?

Steve Macon......social clubs don't really aim to discuss things with depth. I am hoping this group does.

..I think probably the best thing for me is just to leave MA...and maybe

Sheesh Steve I never put you to be a quitter. Where is your mettle? You can leave all your other groups, but you are staying here to give us balance.

MA is still around?
The cliques never bothered me; their interference as the nice club did.

Word of the Day for Sunday, April 24, 2011

yin \YIN\, noun:

A principle in Chinese philosophy associated with negative, dark, and feminine attributes.

This is the word of the day for Easter???!!! Feminine attributes are dark and negative? I guess there's something I don't understand here:)

You mean you don't like the threads that start off "Happy Monday!", followed by Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.?

Or the threads that start "So, what did you eat for breakfast yesterday?"?

Or, "The best way to get down from a duck" or "How to brush out your dog" or "Help me figure our which way to tighten a screw..."?

Yeah...no thanks.  I much prefer the threads "There is [is no] God, and anyone that thinks otherwise is a moron!"

Somebody hasn't eaten their oatmeal this morning....

LoL LynneAnne.....welcome aboard.

I notice racism has never surfaced in conversations in the past year or so...and it is certainly a hot topic.

btw....lucky you going to The Amalfi Coast. I am jealous- my dream vacation.

"Nothing like a good there is no god, republicans are idiots, and gay people should be allowed to marry discussion.  Something to inflame the masses and never come to a conclusion.  Let'r rip!"

...I know an "Enter - stage left!" cue when I hear one.
