Land of Enchantment

I'm leaving Thursday afternoon for a few days in New Mexico.  The more I go to that State, the more I enjoy it, and am intrigued by it.

This trip I'm going to a town called Santa Rosa.  It's a few miles north of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, which is where Billy the Kid is buried.  I've been to Ruidoso, NM, which has connection to the story of Billy the Kid.  I've never gone to Lincoln, NM, which figures prominently in his story.  It was an eye-opener for me to learn about the "Lincoln County War," which was a rich man's war fought by poor men.  It was in that "war" that the events giving rise to the legend began.

I don't think I can get down to Fort Sumner or to Lincoln this trip, but they are high on my list of places to visit.
