TBD on Ning

Last week I went for my 3 month checkup (blood work etc).  My calcium level was thru the roof.  (I am not taking calcium).  I asked what that meant and was told usually a tumor on the parathyroid or breast cancer. (great...) She ordered more blood work and when it came back she called and said nope, not my parathyroid.  (great..)Went for a mammogram Friday and was called today and told "everything is normal" there.  GREAT!!!!!  Now we are back to square one on WTH is causing the calcium level. I can live with that!!

Thanks.  I had Graves disease several years ago and had radiation to kill my thyroid. Now I am on Armour thyroid to replace the hormones.

i had a problem with a blood test about a year ago and i had either a high calcium level , or was that a high potassium level and i felt fine .. the dr. wanted to rush me to the emergency room tho .. i refused to go i said there's somethin wrong with your test and they said maybe , probably , but we don't want to take the chance .. if i remember right it was somethin to do with my kidneys .. in the end i had it tested again in a couple of days and it was fine .. it was like p.a said they screwup them tests sometimes .. its an inconvienience to do it all over again but if its just a bad test thats better than a real problem .. lets hope its just a lab error ..
