TBD on Ning

People say there is crap on TV, and there is. But there are so many good shows as well, especially on cable.  Which are your favorite shows to watch? Which are the one ones you are waiting for? ( I am waiting for Homeland.  I am in love with Saul, a middle aged Jewish guy)

The shows I watch "regularly":

The Daily Show

The Colbert Report

Mythbusters

The Late Show with David Letterman

Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain

The Woodsmith Shop and various home renovation tips shows

The Walking Dead

The Newsroom

Austin City Limits

Shows I watch but don't know why, other than to make my fiancee happy:

Under The Dome

Castle

Modern Family

Shows about home redecorating and watching wide-eyed young couples shop for dream homes and throw tantrums when it doesn't work out.

I like to graze on the Discovery, Science, History and travel channels. I tend to avoid the networks...

I get most of my news from the internet - Non-corporate-owned-American sites, like the Guardian, Al Jazeera and the BBC World News. There DOES seem to be a lower bullshit quotient when you get away from commercial and ratings-driven US "news" channels...Which is not one of the least reasons I like "The Newsroom".

geez snagg....letterman? his writers must have 13 to 18 year olds as a demographic target  i caught him with anderson cooper as a guest last night talking about syria...'well gee why don't we just send in seal team six?"

frickkkkkkk no soup for you letterman...bad points for contributing to the dumbing down of america. those smart enough think it is stuppid...those who don't think it's stupid just have their stupidity endorsed as acceptable...

I didn't say that I watch Letterman for my news updates or editorials....

Home Land is a good show . I like the one on regular TV called "Person of Interest" ... I sure can't rule out "Big Bang , NCIS , The Mentalist , Good Wife and Under The Dome . time watching . I just don't watch as much TV but with my injury , it's picking up now . I decided to give up my cable subscription but i still pick up all local channels through my cable line .

I also don't watch news channels much anymore . Rarely watch Letterman but i like Craig Ferguson .

I noticed my blood pressure went down when I stopped watching the news.

I used to watch Anthony Bourdain and that crazy guy that will eat anything an i mean anything ...

When I got out of the service I begin to frequent the local bars and drink. In the area I would encounter a guy that for a few drinks people would buy him he would eat light bulbs, drink motor oil, odd things, etc. Of course motor oil was 39 cents a quart then. Another friend once swallowed a Toad when "friends" offered him 10 vodka/orange drinks (screwdrivers) to do it. But I never heard of anyone do it where alcohol was not involved.

I use Synthetic oil now a days . According to mileage i have my oil changed i time a year or maybe two years if i don't drive much ...

Andrew Zimmern.  Yeah, he's nuts.

I watched an episode of Divine Women tonight. I think all three episodes will be aired on Public TV in September. Maybe should not have mentioned Public TV; up to that point some may have derived from the title that it was an erotic sex show series. Actually the episode I saw tonight did discuss sex a lot (in ancient Greece).

I'm ready for them to put Twin Peaks back on although Under the Dome has some of those elements.
