Well, Karin, the trouble is, I have RARELY, if ever seen a man in a SPeedo who had the body for it and the ones I've seen in pictures outlines "EVERYTHING" and well, frankly, i dont WANT to see "EVERYTHING" if I am just admiring a good looking man on the beach. And I dont like the young guys who dont have any hair on their chest. OR the guys who SHAVE it!!! (In fact, i dont like todays look of young guys (under 45) AT ALL!!)

I understand what you're saying, Kim, I really do.  But even back in my youth, only the young, fit fellas wore those kinds of suits.  My dad wouldn't have been caught dead in one!  And he was in pretty decent shape!  But his swimming trunks didn't go all the way to his knees like they do nowadays.  So what's wrong with a little thigh showing?  Even pro basketball players are playing in their pjs nowadays.  Look at a tape of Wilt the Stilt playing back in his heyday......he wasn't playing in pajamas! 

I think people should not wear something just because they can.  They need to do a real honest evaluation of how they look......their good traits, and their bad.....and decide what style would look best on them.  We've all seen women who should NEVER wear jeans that don't hit their waist.  Big, sloppy "muffin tops" are not pretty.  And bikinis should only be worn on the young.....unless you are exceptionally fit.  Even Jane Fonda.....who kicks ass in a slinky evening gown......should not wear a bikini in public.  In her pool....fine.  But 75-yr-olds just don't need to be wearing bikinis. 

So, of course, guys should be more aware of what they do and don't look good in.  But when I tell people that certain people just shouldn't wear shorts (male or female) in public......I get yelled at for being too judgmental.  My knees have scars.  I'm not built like Heidi Klum.  So I keep my shorts at home....where they belong.  I wear capris.....but no shorts....not in public.  I have too much self-respect to subject myself to public scrutiny like that.  Nuff said.
