TBD

TBD on Ning

The Nu Project is a series of honest nudes of women from all over the world. The project began in 2005 and has stayed true to the original vision: no professional models, minimal makeup and no glamour. The focus of the project has been and continues to be the subjects and their personalities, spaces, insecurities and quirks.

To date, over 150 women across North and South America have participated in the project.  Without their courage, confidence and trust, none of this would have been possible. We are so thankful for their willingness to open their homes to us.

If you’d like to get involved as a contributor to our fine art book, you can find the information to the right.  If you’d like to sign up for a shoot, please visit the participation page for more information.

I very much like the photographs...and the idea behind the project. I've included a link. The photos are of nude women...various sizes, various ages. various motivations.... if the idea offends you, don't click on the link.

What do you think? Would you ever be open to do something like this?

It's odd that I haven't seen many nudes, I took a class ages ago at Cranbrook (MI) to draw nudes, the models were ordinary people. Other than that I haven't really been exposed. My husband lived in Germany for a year and told me the very conservative families were the nudists, all about nature with grandma and grandpa mom, dad and the kids all out enjoying the fresh air. Since I was raised by my dad with two brothers it was a rule in our house that you had to be dressed.

Looking at the website it was a bit strange however it made me feel less concerned about how my own body looked in comparison. I think it's a great idea however I don't think I could actually make myself model nude.

I too like the photos.  I especially like how they are very natural.  Yet I get the sense that the women feel a mix of emotions and feelings about their bodies and the situation.   I am not sure if I could do it.  I would like to think I might, but I can't be sure.  I believe the human form is very beautiful, but as a woman I am not as comfortable with my body as I might like.  I have taken art classes with live models, male and female.  I always thought they were quite special to be able to do that and wondered if I would be as brave.  Of course there are many romantic fantasies centered around the handsome artist, seeking his muse, ending in the seduction and consummation of passion...lol , what a bunch of nonsense, but then there is no harm in a little fantasy.  This however is a glimpse into the reality of women's relationship with their bodies, which is really quite lovely and interesting.

It takes guts to put it all out there since usually the nude models are all so thin and perfect and airbrushed.  I couldn't do it.  But it's good for the young girls who are hell bent to get implants and liposuction to see that natural is fine.

i think its a great idea .. i can't count the women i've known intimately who all felt like something was wrong with them and i couldn't disagree more.. i'll admit that most women are built different .. a little wider here or a bit taller or shorter here .. a few more pounds there or less pounds there .. but the thing is they all looked good to me even tho most of them could never model because the industry standard is so narrow minded .. 36-26-36 .. what a load of horseshit that is .. some were 42-30-40 and i thought they looked great .. some even bigger .. and some smaller .. its almost like sayin you can't be attracted to a girl because her eyes are brown or her hair is red .. i'd so much prefer to see the girls or should i say the women who are real .. the ones that are comfortable in their skin just as they are .. i agree with cresty tho .. it does take guts to put yourself out there .. but trust me on this .. you'd never get a bad review from me ..

I found this article about the Nu Project...basic info that I already shared but I am sharing the comments at the bottom about the pictures...

people can really be assholes on the internet...the anonymity of the internet I guess..

The second batch of photo's was more of younger well shaped women, I agree some of the remarks about dirty feet was ridiculous, the pics are all about reality, sometime we go barefoot and get our feet dusty.

I think it's a nice idea.  I agree that most young girls nowadays have unrealistic expectations about how their bodies are supposed to look.  My oldest daughter is upset because she says she's too small on top, and too wide in the hips.  All I know is she is 46 .....wears a size 5 in jeans, and never fails to get her share of attention when she enters a room.  My older daughter is upset because she's too tall, and she is big busted (she took after Momma).  My granddaughters wish they had more chest, and one wants longer legs.  We are never happy with what we have. They are each lovely women.

I would never pose for something like this (altho, as someone already said, there's no one there in our age group).  I wouldn't have even in my youth.  I have never been comfortable in my own skin.  I envy those who are.

What was the name of the movie about the older ladies who posed for a nude calendar to earn money for some charity??

Calender Girls ...a great movie....and it was a real life event...raised thousands and thousands of pounds for the local hospital....

and...again...

What's wrong with a tombola! Spanish mums strip for erotic calender to save school bus for 600 pupils

By Daily Mail Reporter

When a group of dedicated mothers decide to raise money for their children's school, more often than not they hold a gala or perhaps a cake sale.

But when 10 mothers in Spain wanted to save a bus service for more than 600 school pupils, they went that little bit further.

Not content with a book sale or a tombola, the plucky parents, from Montserrat, decided to make a rather racy calender. And it has proved a huge hit.
